Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Moja Switch Limited ("Moja Switch", "we", "us") is a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada. Moja Switch is a business-to-business payment infrastructure company. Banks, payment service providers, remittance companies, and fintechs use the platform to move money across borders. We are registered with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) as a money services business, registration number N300001168. We are not a bank, and we are not registered with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider.

This policy has two parts. The first covers this website and the people who contact us about doing business with Moja Switch. The second covers Moja Pay, a separate consumer service of the same company. We handle personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Moja Switch: website and business partners

If you visit mojaswitch.com or write to us about a partnership, we collect the name, work email, company, role, phone number, and message you choose to give us, plus the technical logs needed to run and protect the site. We use that information to answer you, to consider a business relationship, and to administer one after it is signed.

A partner's use of the Moja Switch platform is governed by the written agreement with that partner. That agreement, not this page, sets which transaction and compliance information is exchanged, which party is responsible for it, and how long it is kept. We do not sell business contact information.

Moja Pay: consumer service

Moja Pay is for an individual in Canada who sends a personal transfer. This part of the policy applies only to Moja Pay. It does not apply to a business that integrates with Moja Switch.

When you use Moja Pay we collect:

  • Identity and contact details you give us: name, date of birth, address, email, and mobile number.
  • Identity documents and a photo of you, when you verify your identity.
  • Transfer details: amounts, dates, exchange rate, how you paid, and the recipient's name, mobile money number, and network.
  • Device and sign-in details: device model, app version, and the times you sign in.
  • Messages you send to Moja Pay support.

We use that information to:

  • open and protect your account, including sending a one-time code to the mobile number you enter;
  • verify your identity before you send money;
  • price, collect, and deliver a transfer you confirm, and show you its status;
  • prevent fraud, screen for sanctions, and meet record-keeping and reporting duties that apply to a money services business;
  • answer a support or privacy request;
  • send news or offers, only if you ask for them in the app. You can turn those off in Communication preferences. A receipt or a security code is not marketing.

We keep Moja Pay identity and transfer records for at least five years from the day the record is created, because a money services business must. We keep a record longer when another Canadian law requires it. We keep other Moja Pay information only for as long as the purpose above requires, and then we delete or de-identify it.

Moja Pay text messages

Moja Pay, not the Moja Switch partner platform, sends one-time passcodes by text message. A message is sent only after you enter your mobile number in the Moja Pay app and request a code, to create an account or to sign in. Each message contains a six-digit code that expires in 10 minutes. Do not share the code.

Message frequency varies based on how often you request a code. Message and data rates may apply.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell mobile numbers. We use your number to deliver the code you requested and to operate, secure, and support your Moja Pay account.

Reply STOP to opt out of these messages. After you opt out, we will not send further codes to that number, and Moja Pay sign-in by text will not work until you opt in again by requesting a code in the app or by replying START. Reply HELP for help, or email support@mojaswitch.com.

Who receives Moja Pay information

For a Moja Pay customer, we share personal information only as follows:

  • with the identity-verification provider that checks your documents and photo, and only so that provider can perform that check for us;
  • with the licensed businesses that collect funds in Canada and deliver a payout you confirmed;
  • with the institutions in the destination country that pay your recipient, including your name, the amount, and the recipient details needed to complete that payout. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country;
  • with regulators, including FINTRAC, and with law enforcement, when the law requires it;
  • with a service provider that hosts or supports our systems, under a duty to use the information only for that work.

We do not sell personal information.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct information that is wrong. Write to compliance@mojaswitch.com. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you. A Moja Pay customer can withdraw consent for optional news and offers in the app. You cannot withdraw consent for a record we are required by law to keep, or for the identity and transfer information needed to complete a transfer you have already confirmed.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. If you live in Quebec, you may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Safeguards, changes, and contact

We protect personal information with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including access limits and encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

We will post a revised policy on this page and change the date above. If a change materially affects Moja Pay customers, we will also tell them in the app before it takes effect. A change to a partner's information terms is made in that partner's agreement.

Privacy questions: compliance@mojaswitch.com. The terms are at mojaswitch.com/terms.
